Lightning Football News...

Each year all of the 8-man Coaches Association select who they believe were the top payers of the year in 8-man football. In order to be considered for all CIF they have to be voted as a top player of their individual league first, which is the Agape League for the Lightning. Six Lightning players made the ALL-CIF list this year and received their awards during the recent Football awards banquet. Named ALL-CIF were Justin Peterson, Nathan Rynning, Robert Masaniai, Jacob Holz, Jesse Mock and Tom Robinson.

In addition, those players Receiving ALL-Agape League Honors were Chris Bridenstine, Jordan Leichtner, Steven Wilcox and Bryan Bates. Richard Ressa received the 2002 Coaches Award.

The awards received by each player were as follows:

Justin Peterson- All-CIF, Agape League Most Valuable Player, Hi-Desert Star Player of the Year and 2002 Lightning Most Valuable Player.

Nathan Rynning- All-CIF First Team, All-Agape League and 2002 Lightning Offensive Player of the Year.

Robert Masaniai- All-CIF, All-Agape League and 2002 Lightning Lineman of the year.

Jacob Holz- All-CIF, All-Agape League and 2002 Lightning Iron Man of the year.

Jesse Mock- All-CIF, All-Agape League and 2002 Lightning Tenacity Award.

Tom Robinson- All-CIF and All-Agape League.

Chris Bridenstine- All-Agape League.

Jordan Leichtner- All-Agape League Honorable Mention.

Steven Wilcox- All Agape League Honorable Mention.

Bryan Bates- All Agape League Honorable Mention.

Richard Ressa- 2002 Coaches Award.
