Lightning Football News...Antelope Valley Christian No Problem for the 7-0 Lightning!
The Varsity team started their long road trip to Antelope Valley Christian at 7:00AM Saturday morning. The trip takes about 3 1/2 to 4 hours by bus and can be very tiring. When the Lightning arrived in Lancaster they found a very anxious Antelope Valley Christian team awaiting them. You see, Antelope Valley has never beaten the Lightning since they entered the Agape League 5 years ago. AVC has had a very good team the last two years that went to the playoffs each year but still has not been able to beat the Lightning. They were hoping today would be the day of victory!Antelope Valley did not win the game but they were able to do something that no other team has done...they scored 12 points on the Lightning Defense. The Lightning defense has only allowed 4.5 points per game and an average of 92-yds total per game!(That includes rushing and passing!) The Lightning Offense scored a total of 41 points against AVC and dominated the game. The Lightning Offense game into the game averaging 49 points a game and would have met their average had it not been for a very determined AVC defense. The final score was 41-12. The Lightning are now 3-0 in the Agape League and 7-0 over-all. (More on stats and Play by Play later this week) The Lightning are still ranked No.1 in the Large 8-man division of the C.I.F. polls. The Lightning are on the road again this week at Victor Valley Christian in Victorville. The game starts at 7:00PM. So..take a little trip this weekend and support the Lightning!
