Lightning Football News...Will the Lightning Win Back-to-Back League Championships?
The Lightning traveled to Victor Valley Christian last Friday night and easily beat the Royals 45-0. The Royals are rebuilding and have a new coach this year. They did move the ball a few times and got a couple of first downs but there was never even a threat of them scoring. The most entertaining part of the game was the oldies music being played by their game announcer. It kept everyone is a happy mood...while we were freezing. It was very cool that night. Beating the Royals did put the Lightning in the drivers seat to win the Agape League again this year.The Lightning are now 8-0 overall and 4-0 in the Agape league which sets up Friday night's game with CSOD at Lightning Stadium for the Agape League Championship. If the Lightning defeat CSOD (we are heavy favorites) it will be another 9-0 season...another "Perfect Storm". Whether we win or lose, the Lightning will start playoff action the following weekend on either Friday or Saturday night. We will be notified by Tuesday (11th) as to the play dates and times. We will post them on the schedule. The game Friday will be at 7:00PM. Bring the family out and lets support our team! The Lightning JV Team had a great game against Calvary Chapel Redlands Varsity team on Saturday night at Lightning stadium. They won 34-21 in a game that could have went either way. CCR played well in the first half but wore down in the second half as the Lightning kept pounding them with running plays. The Lightning defense looked very impressive as they stopped CCR several times and controlled the 2nd half. The JV team ended their season also undefeated and 4-0.
