The Bethel Christian Eagles were hoping this year would be the year to finally get a win against the Lightning. The Lightning coming off a disappointing loss to CSOD, which cost them the Agape League championship, were trying to stay focused on this game and not look ahead to the upcoming playoffs. The Lightning needed to win this game to make sure they made it into the playoffs, which they did 49-0.

The game was pretty much over by half-time and Coach Roberts played everyone he brought, even the JV Players, for all of the second half of the game. This was a good win to finish the regular season on. It gives us a positive feeling going into the playoffs this week.

So, what about the playoffs? We got probably the toughest first round match of anyone in the playoffs. The Lightning will be taking on Cal Lutheran of Wildomar, which are currently ranked #4 in the latest CIF Polls. They recently beat the, then #1 team, Riverside Christian Cougars, which beat the Lightning 25-6 earlier in the year. If we can get a win at Cal Lutheran we can beat anyone else we face. The Lightning will have to bring their "A" game against a team who is averaging 46 Pts a game. The game will be a 7:30 Friday night (11/14) at the Cal Lutheran field in Wildomar.
