Lightning Lose League to CSOD

Story by Ray Boetger
Coach lays down the defense

For the Lightning, this would be the most challenging game of the season. Both teams were undefeated in league, and Lightning had a better overall record. Still, CSOD came out ready to play.  They wanted this game bad, because last time we destroyed them 54-0 on their homecoming. Anyway, they started out looking good when they scored 14 points. Lightning came back with a blast to Tony Garrido, but at half time it was 28 – 6, and favoring the Conquerors. Then, DC saw the real Lightning team, because we came back and showed them how to play football. We made the game between 6 points in the 3rd quarter. In the end, on a final drive, one bad call from the ref gave the ball to DC, which gave them the opportunity to take a knee. Time ran down to a DC victory. Lightning came back, and fought hard, but it wasn’t enough to get the win. Lightning lose 28 to 34.
