Lightning Football News...Lightning 2004 Football AwardsThe 2004 Lightning Football awards were held last Monday night and featured the teams top players. The Lightning had a great year winning the Agape League Championship and advancing to the 2nd round of the playoffs. The Lightning finished 7-4. Coach Roberts, now 48-18 after six years as the Lightning's head coach, had many good things to say about his team. Even though the team will be losing 8 players to graduation the prospects for next year look very promising. The team will return 13 players from this years varsity team, many in starting positions. Since the JV team had a great year too finishing 6-1, many of those players will advance to the varsity team as well. Players receiving awards were: Senior Kevin Adair, 2004 Most Valuable Player, All Agape League and All CIF, Junior Tim Krapivkin, 2004 Offensive Player of the Year and Agape League Offensive MVP, Junior Tony Garrido, Defensive Player of the Year, All Agape League and All CIF, Junior Richard Ressa, Special Teams Award, Junior JC Roberts, IronMan Award, Agape League Honorable Mention, Senior Jon Ashton, Tenacity Award, All Agape League, Senior Jerry Thorn, Coaches Award, Agape League Honorable Mention, Senior Daniel Doran, Most Improved Player Award, All Agape League Honorable Mention, Junior Ray Boetger, All Agape League and Freshman Eddie Nixon, Agape League Honorable Mention. We want to congratulate the coaches and all the players for giving us another great year of Lightning Football. Go Lightning!
