Lightning Football News...

The Lightning (7-4, 5-0), finished their 2004 season with a hard loss losing to Kings Christian 0-42 in the CIF Quarterfinals, but still had a great season. This years team swept the Agape League winning the title outright 5-0. The Lightning defeated Riverside Christian in a strong fashion ending their dominance over the last few games.

The Lightning played a hard hitting game against Kings Christian but this year's matchup favored the Kings who has a team loaded with talent and headed to the CIF Championship game.

The Lightning kept the game close in the first quarter 0-0. But the Lightning offense just couldn't get it going and the defense had to work overtime finally giving up 20 pts to end the half.

The second half was much of the same as the Crusaders dominated the game allowing just 74 total yards from a Lightning defense that has averaged over 290 yds rushing alone. The final scored was 0-42, a humbling game for the Lightning.

This was the first time the Lightning has been blanked since the 2000 season and the fifth time in the history of our program, 3 of those were in 1996 the very first year of our varsity football program. The worst defeat in Lightning history was 70-20 loss in 1999 to First Lutheran from LA.
