Cougars outlast the Lightning 24-22!

The Joshua Springs J.V. football team lost against Riverside Christian 22-24. The Joshua Springs Lightning scored more points in the first half than the last two years against Riverside, but their offense was shut down during that second half. At the half the Lightning were ahead 22-6 with a pass to #60 Sean Miller for a touchdown and also #53 Josh Leightner for a touchdown. #23 Chris Rogers also had a rushing touchdown. The Lightning made 2 of 3 of their 2 point conversions which helped the Lightning dominate the first half. After the first half, the Lightning fumbled twice. One of these fumbles led to a drive down the field in which Riverside scored, but failed to make the 2 point conversion. The other fumble was picked up and ran in for a touchdown. After these two fumbles Riverside was behind 22-18, but they weren’t done. Riverside then scored another touchdown and failed to make the extra point. This made the scored 24-22 with less than 5 min left in the game. The Joshua springs offense was then stopped with only two first downs after getting the ball for two more drives.

This makes the Joshua Springs J.V. football record 3-2 with their last game this Saturday, October 27th at Faith Baptist in Los Angeles at 10:30AM.
