Lancers Outlast Lightning 20-40!
The Lightning hosted the #3 ranked Avalon Lancers from Catalina Island Saturday Sept. 27th at Lightning field. The Lightning, coming off two back to back losses were hoping to put a "W" on the schedule against Avalon even though they are a highly ranked team.
This was a good game. The Lightning played tough in the 1st half keeping the game close. The Lancers burned the Lightning several times with long passes over the secondary and picked up some easy scores. The Lancers really couldn't run against the Lightning defense so they did it through the air. The Lancers jumped out to a 12 to 8 lead in the 1st quarter but it was a 20-20 tie game at the end of the 1st half.
The Lancers shut down the Lightning in the 2nd half and put the game away for good winning 20-40.
Next up for the Lightning is a home game Saturday, October 4th, at 3:00PM at Los Angeles against the #2 ranked Windward High School from West LA. JS is currently ranked #7 even with the three losses.
