Lightning Crushed by the Wildcats 0-46!
The Lightning varsity football team had a long bus ride home from Los Angeles Saturday night after the worst defeat in the School's modern day history. How bad was it? The Lightning offense only managed 58 total yards in the game and the defense allowed 46 points in 2 1/2 quarters of play. Does that sound like the same Lightning team that won the CIF 8-Man Division I championship last year? It was a hard loss for the Lightning and will probably be a time for Coach Jackie to set the guys down and see what we are going to do for the rest of this year. At 0-4, there is no where to go buy up.
Player stats for the day were as follows. QB Zack Ontiveros was 4 of 9 for 36 yds. Two of those passes were caught by Josh Leichtner for 33 yds. Cole Roberts rushed 11 times for 23 yd and Tyler Carlisle has two carries for 16 yds. That was it.
So, what is next? The Lightning open their Agape League season against Victor Valley Christian who will be looking for their first win against the Lightning in four years and this year they may have a chance. The game will be at Victorville on Friday at 7:00PM.
