JS Beats Hesperia Christian 30-6!

Hundreds of Js fans came out to support our boys for their last league game, Friday November 7th. Though it was an intense game, the fans were not disappointed when the Lightning beat Hesperia with a score of 30-6.

This was a game of mental errors for Lightning having 7 fumbles, 2 lost, and 1 Interception. Even though the Lightning totally dominated the game on both sides of the ball it was not the best showing for a team headed to the playoff in search of their 3rd straight trip to the CIF finals. But a win is a win and the Lightning will take it.

QB Zack Ontiveros was 6 out of 10 for 89 yards. Tyler Carlisle picked up his 5th straight 100 yd rushing game with 125 yds on 27 carries and a TD, even with his 3 fumbles. Levi Garrido had 5 carries for 46 yds and a TD, Greg Lindblom had 10 carries for 40 yds and a TD, and Chris Barnes had 6 carries for 35 yds. Garrido also had 3 catches for 60 yds and Josh Leichtner had 3 catches for 29 yds.

On Defense, Leichtner and Erik McClay led the pack with 8 tackles each, Lindblom had 7 tackles, 1 for a loss, Jono Sullivan had 6 tackles, 2 for a loss and a sack, Carlisle had 4 tackles and 2 sacks, Barnes had 4 tackles, 3 for a loss and a sack, Garrido had 4 tackles, and 3 pass defenses, and Michael Samu had 2 tackles and a recovered fumble.

The Lightning will play start the 2009 CIF playoffs at home against Immanuel Christian Friday, November 13th at 7:00PM. There is an $8 charge at the gate.
