Lightning took a road trip on Saturday September 12th to Canoga Park to face the Contenders of Faith Baptist, for what should be their hardest match of the season. Stepping out of the bus into 100 plus degree weather was only the begriming of the problems for the Lightning. The Lightning were looking for a win since the last time these two teams met, Faith Baptists ran up the score and won big, 46 to 6 on the Joshua Springs home field. Vengeance was definitely not a virtue for the Lightning as they fell short again losing 48 to 0.
Zack Ontiveros had a total passing yards of 40, 6 completion out of 14 attempts.
Tyler Carlisle rushed a total of 19 yards out of 9 attempts. Steve Henderson had a total of 4 yards rushing out of 2 attempts. He also had 4 Receptions for 22 yard. Josh Leichtner and Erik McClay both had reception 1 for 9 yards.
Erik McClay had 3 tackles and 1 assist. Levi Garrido had 2 tackles and 2 assist. Greg Lindblom had 2 tackles and 2 assist. Tyler Carlisle had 3 tackles and 1 assist. Steve Henderson had 1 tackle. Josh Leichtner had 2 assists. Jono Sullivan had 1 tackle.
Steve Henderson had 1 punt for 36 yards. Josh Leichtner had 3 punts for 53 yards. He also had 1 kickoff for 32 yards. Tyler Carlisle had 1 punt return for 20 yards. He also had 4 kickoff returns for 68 yards. Levi Garrido had 1 kickoff return for 14 yards.
Lightning will play friday September 18th against Santa Clarita Christian.
