Lightning Volleyball News...The Lightning Are 13-4 with 3 games left!The first game started out with Amanda Nelson (#22) getting hot at the serving line and produced 3 aces in a row. Dani Rush (#11)finished the game serving 5 aces in a row for the last 5 points. The game ended 15-3. The 2nd game saw Tonya Carter (#4) getting hot from the serving line with 5 aces and the defense was perfect stopping AVC 15-0! The 3rd game was again a defensive stop for the Lightning as Amanda Nelson and Brianne Jones (#13) both combined for 8 aces and the Lightning won 15-1. The most exciting part of the game was seeing our two freshman players play a great match. Amanda Nelson ended up with 8 aces and 3 Kills and Ashley Vrooman (#12) ended up with 2 aces and 3 kills. The JV team did not play because Antelope Valley Christian did not field a JV team this year. The Lightning are now 5-2 in Agape League Play and 13-4 over-all. The Lightning look very good for landing a playoff slot in the C.I.F. playoffs which start in 4 weeks. The Lightning need to win 2 of the last 3 games to be assured a playoff shot. All three of the last three games are away games. So pack up the car and lets get on the road and support our great team! The Lightning travel to Bethel Christian in Lancaster on Thursday for more Agape League action. The JV game starts at 4:30PM and the Varsity game starts at 5:30PM.
