Lightning Down the Eagles 3-0!

The Thunderdome was full of Thunder here Tuesday afternoon as a good crowd was on hand to support the 11-2 Lady Lightning in JV and Varsity Volleyball action. The visiting Bethel Christian Eagles got to experience first hand a little Thunder and Lighting. The game was one of the best of the year so far as the Eagles surprised JS with very impressive defense and some great setting.

The Lightning came out strong with great serves from Becca Millard #10 and Dani Rush #11 and it was 7-1 in just moments. After a time out by the Eagles they settled down and showed some great defense. The volleys were going back and forth and the hustle on both sides of the net was excellent. Amber Carter (#7) showed some great moves while picking up 5 kills in the first game. The Lightning took the first game 15-10.

The second game was a lot like the first. Dani Rush showed perfect serving and rolled off 10 points, 2 of them aces. Becca Millard and Amber Carter showed great defense and Tonya Carter #4 controlled the net. Tonya had 2 great blocks in game 2. The Lightning won again 15-10.

Game 3 was a total team effort with some great serving from Brianne Jones #13 and total team defense. The Lightning won 15-4. Bethel is a very good team even though the score does not really indicate it. They played the Lightning very close and they should be congratulated for their coaching and team effort.

The JV team also won both of their games and are now 3-4 and 1-1 in Agape league play.

The Lady Lightning take on the No.1 ranked Hesperia Christian Patriots this Thursday (Oct 17th) here in the Thunderdome. This will be the biggest home game of the season. Everyone come out and support the Lightning who are now 11-2 and 3-0 in Agape League standings.
