Senior Misty Knehr and junior Anandi Hira celebrate a hard-earned victory!

Lady Lightning Defeat Victor Valley Christian 3-0!

The Lady Lightning (4-9, 2-2) played great defense as well as near perfect serving thursday night as they defeated the Victor Valley Royals 25-20, 25-19 and 27-25.

The Lady Lightning, lead by the great blocking defense of Senior Misty Knehr, Junior Amanda Nelson and Junior Katy Ortiz, stopped most of the attacking offense of the Royals. Juniors Amanda Nelson, Katy Ortiz and Ashley Vrooman are pleased with the way this match is going.Junior Katrina Abel was perfect from the serving line 13 times including 2 aces.

The overall serving was awesome. "The serving made the difference" said 1st year Coach Kristi Vrooman , "We have been working on that all week and it paid off tonight!"

The serving was great, but so was the "D"!, Ortiz had 8 kills, Knehr had 5 kills and 3 blocks, Junior Allison Reed had 5 kills and Nelson had 1 block and 3 kills. Every player on the team contributed in tonight's win. The Royals are a very good team and this is a great confidence builder.

Next up for the Lady Lightning is a trip to Apple Valley Christian next Tuesday afternoon. The game will start at 5:30.

Lady Lightning JV win 2-0 over Victor Valley Christian!

The Lady Lightning JV (6-3, 2-1) defeated The Victor Valley Royals iin two games, 25-20 and 25-19. The Lady Lightning had a disappointing loss to Hesperia Christian on Tuesday night 0-2, so this was a great win. The JV team takes on Apple Valley Christian next Tuesday at 4:30.
