#6 JS Falls to #2 Baptist Christian 2-3!

The Thunderdome was rocking Tuesday afternoon when the #2 ranked Baptist Christian Lady Warriors came to play the #6 ranked Lady Lightning of Joshua Springs. The crowd was full of anticipation hoping that this would be the year that the Lady Lightning would defeat the Lady Warriors, having never accomplished this feat.

The Lady Lightning got of to a great start and really surprised the Lady Warriors with great play on offense and defense. The Lady Lightning won the first game ever over the mighty Lady Warriors 25-10.

The win must have sent a wake up call to the Warrior bench because the Lady Warriors game out and played a great second game getting up on the Lady Lightning by six points and holding on to win 19-25. The third game was about even most of the way until midway where some Lightning defensive errors allowed the Warriors to get ahead by three points 15-18. The Lady warriors went on to win 18-25.

The Lady Warriors thought they had the match in the fourth game until great volleys by the Lady Lightning started to fall their way and they got up on the Lady Warriors by five points 15-10. The Lady Lightning went on to win game four 25-20.

The stage was now set for the final game to determine the match. The Lightning fans were on their feet chanting "Lightning, Lightning" in hopes of a Lightning upset of the CIF Division VA #2 ranked team. The game stayed even for the first five or six points then the Lady Warriors got some breaks and picked up some easy scores on serves that just fell their way. The Lady Lightning fought hard to get back in the game but fell short losing the final game 9-15.

The Lady Warriors were jumping up and down with excitement knowing that they survived a huge upset had the Lady Lightning held on to win.

Next up for the Lady Lightning is an away game with Loma Linda at Loma Linda on Thursday afternoon at 6:00PM.

The Lady Lightning did defeated Riverside Christian 3-2 last Friday afternoon at the Thunderdome.
