Lady Lightning Win 4th in a row!

The Lady Lightning(8-4, 2-0) defeated the Bethel Christian Eagles at Lancaster in 4 games on Thursday afternoon. The Lady Lightning won 25-15, 16-25, 27-25 and 25-18. The win is the 4th in a row for the Lady Lightning and moves them to 2-0 in the Agape League Standings.

The Lady Lightning led by Senior Katy Ortiz's 19 kills and 9 digs, played well on defense but had some trouble at the serving line. The Lady Lightning usually deadly on serves, had 17 missed serves in the four games. The team also missed Senior Captain Amanda Nelson who has missed two games due to illness.

Some of the other players that did well are Senior Ashley Vrooman who had 22 assists, 3 kills and a good day serving, junior Allison Reed had 8 kills and 13 digs and Junior Danielle Buckner had 6 kills.

Next up for the Lady Lightning is a showdown with the Hesperia Christian Lady Patriots at the Thunderdome on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 5:30PM. Come out at 4:30 and catch the JV game too!

Earlier in the week, on Tuesday the Lady Lightning defeated Antelope Valley Christian Eagles at the Thunderdome by a score of 3-0. The Lady Lightning won 25-9, 25-13 and 25-11. The Eagles team were truly outmatched by the Lady Lightning who seemed to score at will.

Some of the standouts for the Lady Lightning were Ortiz who had 9 kills, 5 aces, Vrooman who had 19 assists and 3 aces, Junior Laura Adair who had 5 kills, Senior Katrina Abel who had 5 kills, Senior Melissa Ward had 9 aces, Kristen Manley had 6 aces and Reed was the defensive standout with 7 digs and perfect passing.
