Lady Lightning Defeat Apple Valley Christian 3-2!

The Lady Lightning (8-5,7-2) were on the road Tuesday night at Apple Valley Christian in Apple Valley. The Lady Lightning were looking for a tough match from the Lady Warriors who play much better a home and that is just what they got. The Lady Lightning lost both of the first two games 18-25 and 20- 25. The Lady Warriors just knew they had the match and made the mistake of underestimating the Lady Lightning and their will to win. The Lady Lightning came back and took all three games and turn this match into a real barnburner. The third game was 29-27 in a real close one, the fourth game the Lady Lightning won strong at 25-19 and then the final game had everyone on the edge of their seats and the Lady Lightning won only 17-15 to take the match and sweep the Lady Warriors in League play this year. It was a great win for the girls.

Senior Allison Reed lead the team with 20 kills and 4 aces, Junior Kylie McKoy had 11 kills and 3 aces, Senior Alyse Young had 3 kills, Senior Amanda Newcomb had 3 kills and 9 aces, Senior Crissy Clark had 4 kills and 5 aces, Freshman Emily Wilson had 3 kills and 1 ace, Senior Kristen Manley had 1 kill and Freshman Haley Hughes was perfect from the serving line.

Next up for the Lady Lightning, is an away game at Antelope Valley Christian on Thursday Oct 19th at 5:30PM
