Lady Lightning Win Barnburner 3-2!

The Lady Lightning (10-6,9-2) were on the road Tuesday night at Bethel Christian in Lancaster. This match turned out to be a real barnburner which went the full five games before the Lady Lightning could pull off the win. The Lady Eagles came to play and were ready to upset the Lady Lightning who were trying to solidify a place in post season by getting another Agape League win.

The Lady Eagles upset the Lady Lightning in the first game winning 23-25. The Lady Lightning won the next two games 25-15 and 25-18. Then the Lady Eagles still having some fight in them, took the fourth game 21-25. The most exciting game of the night was the last one where the Lady Lightning found themselves being down 7-11 and rallied back to win 15-12.

Top scorers for the Lady Lightning were Senior Allison Reed who had 26 kills, Senior Amanda Newcomb had 11 aces, and Junior Kylie McKoy had 10 kills and 5 aces.

Next up for the Lady Lightning, is a home game with the Hesperia Christian Patriots, Thursday Oct. 26 at the Thunderdome. The game will be at 5:30PM. The Lightning have never beaten thePatriots and would love to pull off an upset on the #8 ranked Lady Patriots.
