Lightning Volleyball News...   Lady Lightning Win the "Rock the Dome" Championship!The Lady Lightning took the court at 9:00AM on Saturday Sept. 13, and never looked back playing 15 games and 7 different teams to earn the right to be this year's JTNP "Rock the Dome" Champions! Ten teams from all over Southern California showed up to play a full day of volleyball. The Lady Lightning played their first four - two-game matches in Pool B competition to determine seeding for the main tournament. The Lightning defeated River Springs 2-0, Eastside Christian 2-0, Lake Arrowhead Christian 2-0 and split with Packinghouse Christian 1-1. In the tournament the Lightning Defeated River Springs 2-0, Marywood/Palm Valley 2-1 and then defeated Cornerstone Christian in the Championship 2-0. The Lady Lightning were 13-2 overall in the competition. The offense was lead by Abby Lombardo who had 21 Aces, 78 assists and a 96% serving along with Nicole Barker who had 20 aces, 9 kills, 6 blocks and 90% serving. Emily Wilson lead all attackers with 52 kills and 5 blocks, Jackie Cook had 28 kills, 1 block, 58 assists, 78 digs and Ashlyn Morrison had 24 kills, 14 assists and 163 digs. Kim Trowbridge had 14 kills and 7 blocks. Next up for the Lady Lightning is an away game at Marywood/Palm Valley on Wednesday, September 17th. More Volleyball News Sept. 5th, 2008 July
