The Lightning boys were looking to avenge last week's loss to the Patriots. At Hesperia, a poor shooting effort led to a twelve point loss, 54-42.
The Lightning were charged up by the home crowd and got off to a quick start, especially on defense, holding Hesperia to just five points in the first quarter and were up at the half 25-11.
Jake Moore, Luke Humphreville, Ted Dumas and Chase Sweetman all hit three pointers in the opening period. Jeff Bachman added six points of his own, crashing the boards and putting back easy buckets.
There was little doubt who would win the game, but Hesperia at least made it interesting, outscoring the Lightning 33-24 in the second half, as the home team Joshua Springs was victorious 49-44.
Bachman led the way with 14 points, followed closely by Sweetman and Luke Humphreville with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Ted Dumas and Jake Moore each added four points. Finally, Robert Prioleau, Caleb Kint, and Joey Hagerman each scored one bucket.
The Lightning improve to 4-1 on the season, their lone blemish being last Thursday at Hesperia.
The Lightning's next game is Monday, April 11th as they host the AAE Knights from Apple Valley.
